The Forum for Youth Investment A nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to helping communities and the nation make sure all young people are Ready by 21™: ready for college, work and life. Provides youth and adult leaders with the information, technical assistance, training, network support and partnership opportunities needed to increase the quality and quantity of youth investment and youth involvement.
The Innovation Center for Community and Youth Development Connects thinkers and leaders of all ages to develop fresh ideas, forge new partnerships, and design strategies that engage young people and their communities.
MN Department of Employment & Economic Development Office of Youth Development Provides funding for a wide array of employment and training services for economically disadvantaged and at-risk youth. Other programs include more recent initiatives to expand employment and training opportunities for youth with disabilities and expand training opportunities for young adults with barriers to employment.
MN Youth Work Institute Offers a range of community-based classes that meet the needs of practitioners working with youth including:
- Foundations in youth work, the basic principles and practices of a positive youth development.
- Cross-cultural awareness and ways to understand youth experiences and the context in which youth live.
- Key skill development for youth workers and youth development organizations such as program evaluation and quality.
National Indian Youth Leadership Project Engages native youth in challenging activities and meaningful experiences in the community and the natural world preparing them for healthy lives as capable, contributing members of their family, community, tribe, and nation.
National Network for Youth Championing the needs of runaway, homeless, and other disconnected youth through advocacy, innovation and services - one community at a time.
National Youth Development Information Center Resource for youth workers with interest in any and all of the following areas: funding, programming, research, policy, job and training opportunities. Provides current news to the youth development field and has one of the largest online libraries, providing practice-related information at low-cost or no cost. Provides constant opportunities for practitioners to share knowledge and experience, enabling them to build the best practice in the field of youth development.
National Youth Leadership Council Leads a movement linking youths, educators, and communities to redefine the roles of young people in society. That movement is service-learning, and it empowers youths to transform themselves from recipients of information and resources into valuable, contributing members of a democracy.
Points of Light Foundation Engages and mobilizes millions of volunteers who are helping to solve serious social problems in thousands of communities. Through a variety of programs and services, the Foundation encourages people from all walks of life — businesses, nonprofits, faith-based organizations, low-income communities, families, youth, and older adults — to volunteer.
Public Achievement A program of the Center for Democracy and Citizenship at the University of Minnesota's Humphrey Center for Public Affairs. A youth civic engagement initiative focused on the most basic concepts of citizenship, democracy and public work.
Search Institute Provide leadership, knowledge, and resources to promote healthy children, youth, and communities. Generates and communicates new knowledge, and brings together community, state, and national leaders. At the heart of the institute's work is the framework of 40 Development Assets, which are positive experiences and personal qualities that young people need to grow up healthy, caring, and responsible.

What Kids Can Do A national not-for-profit organization founded for the purpose of making public the voices and views of adolescents.
Youth and Family Development Programs of the University of Minnesota Extension Service Address parenting skills, childcare, youth development, family economic stability, finances, consumer education, divorce transition, and change and stress. Current priorities include: positive out of school time, vital aging, and building strengths with underserved and transitioning families.
Youth Build Works to unleash the positive energy of low-income young people to rebuild their communities and their lives. A list of publications through their Youth On Board project could prove very valuable.
Youth Community Connections An advocacy alliance of public and private organizations that offer and support youth development. Ensures that all Minnesota communities have options for children and youth to learn, develop, and contribute during non-school hours.
Youth Venture Helps to empower young people ages 12-20 by providing them all the tools necessary to create civic-minded organizations, clubs or businesses. A Venture can be any youth-created, youth-led organization designed to provide a positive lasting benefit in a school, neighborhood, or large community. Provides access to a variety of resources including: a national network of like-minded young people, media opportunities and up to $1,000 in seed capital needed to launch organizations.
Youth Vote Coalition In 2004 Youth Vote registered 123,934 voters, made 124,796 Get Out the Vote contacts, and generated over 250 media spots on youth & voting.
