We believe children and youth are the greatest assets in all communities.
Our Youth As Resources (YAR) program engages young people as partners with adults to bring about positive community-based change, based on the belief that:
- Young people want to be contributors of service to their communities.
- Young people can be effective leaders and decision-makers.
- Young people can act as responsible partners with adults at all levels of service.
Our Minnesota Early Childhood Initiative (MECI) supports local efforts to increase the quality of care and education for our region’s youngest children, based on the belief that:
- Every child should have the opportunity to learn, to be safe, and to be loved.
- To be successful, families need and deserve the support of the broader community.
- More children can and should enter school ready to learn and succeed.
- Investing time and resources during the early years of children’s lives creates a valuable economic impact for communities.
- Quality, accessible and affordable early childhood opportunities should be a top priority for policy makers at all levels.
