Children, Youth & Families News You Can Use
The Pequot Lakes Area YAR has been busy! Here are some of the recent projects that they have funded and/or worked on:
- Children's Area at the new community library
- Supplies for rootbeer floats that were sold to raise funds for Thanksgiving Baskets (put together by the Jr. High ALC Class).
- Matched $500 for the Penny Wars, a grant request by the junior high student council. The project raised over $1,200 for Christmas for Kids.
- YAR Walking Map of Pequot Lakes. The group first participated in ad sales training, then sold ads, hired a graphic artist and coordinated the production and distribution of the maps. They sold window clings and bobber numbers to local businesses and organizations in order to raise awareness and funds for future projects.
