The Initiative Foundation's community development grants enable central Minnesota communities to respond to local needs and opportunities by encouraging planning, partnerships and volunteerism. Directly related to our focus areas, these grants must address one or more of the following:
- Deliver community-based activities or programs designed to:
1. Strengthen children, youth and families. 2. Embrace diversity as a resource. 3. Preserve open space, a sense of place and natural resources. 4. Support community-based solutions to methamphetamine issues.
- Provide training, capacity-building, planning, visioning and project implementation for communities and nonprofits.
- Create or initiate multi-community projects that address innovative ways for communities to work cooperatively to solve common problems or capitalize on opportunities together.
Organizations with projects that meet these criteria should verify their eligiblity before beginning the application process.
