Don Hickman

Don oversees grantmaking, programming to support nonprofits and clean-energy work. He also runs the Foundation’s Childcare Solutions program. Don grew up in Iowa and Wisconsin and lives with his wife in Merrifield. He joined the Foundation in 1999 and loves that his role allows him to help communities explore new opportunities.

“Our staff, community members and allies are forever considering creative ideas, forming key alliances and solving problems, or capitalizing on our region’s assets,” said Don.

Don holds a master’s degree from Western Colorado State University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota. In his free time, he enjoys all-season outdoor recreation. Don is inspired by the grantees and Foundation partners who work every day to make stronger families, communities and businesses.
