Matt Varilek, president of the Initiative Foundation, announced a $10,000 general endowment gift received from the Norman C. Skalicky Foundation, a fund of the Central Minnesota Community Foundation.
“We are so thankful for local donors like Norm Skalicky who recognize the important work we do and respond with generous gifts to help us continue and expand our community and economic development work throughout the region,” Varilek said.
A cornerstone in Central Minnesota for more than three decades, the Initiative Foundation provides business financing and technical assistance, awards nonprofit grants, hosts Partner Funds and leads a variety of leadership programs that enable citizens to build stronger communities.
From holiday season Charity Challenge matches that support local food shelves to a $5 million match to support the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Minnesota and its Great Futures Endowment Campaign, The Norman C. Skalicky Foundation has been a steady regional partner since its formation in 2001 to advance good causes in support of good people.
“Local donors like Norm Skalicky are at the heart of everything we do,” Varilek said. “It’s through their support that we can provide programming to helps local nonprofits thrive, to build up local entrepreneurs, and to fund important projects that educate and elevate prosperity in the region.”
