Enterprise Academy Graduates Eight Entrepreneurs
April 30, 2019
Congratulations to the April 2019 Enterprise Academy graduates! Eight students participated in the 12-week course, which included sessions on bookkeeping, financial management, business finance, marketing and communications and more.
The weekly course for new Americans will be followed by one-on-one assistance to help students develop and advance their business plans.
Graduates include Ayan Danan, Fartun Jama, Liin Guure, Mohamed Dalaal, Mohamed Farah, Mohamud Madoobe, Muhumed Moalim and Zainab Mohamed. See the graduation program to learn more about their endeavors. The program's first cohort of nine students graduated in August 2018, and a second cohort graduated in December 2018.
The Enterprise Academy was launched in early 2018 to support small businesses and startup ventures within communities of people who traditionally have limited access to financing and business development tools. The first of several cohorts are focused within St. Cloud’s East African population. The long-range goal is to expand the program to other communities of need in Central Minnesota as funding becomes available.
The Enterprise Academy is supported locally by the Central Minnesota Community Foundation and the Greater St. Cloud Development Corporation. Additional partners and funders include the Neighborhood Development Center, Wells Fargo, the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development and many others!
